Vivi stared at him, before offering a little smile.

"It's okay... I don't eat meat either..."

He looked up at Bobo, seeming to smile brighter.

"Do you have Cheese and Potato soup? And could I have some bread too with melted cheese?"

"Sure thing. It'll be a minute."

With that, Bobo went off to make the meals for the two of them.

A waiter came along and took Zidane and Vivi to their table, before asking if they wanted any complimentary cheese toast. Zidane gave a nod, the waiter giving a smile and heading into the kitchen. Now alone with the mage for a few minutes, the blond wasted no time.

"Why?" he asked, curious. "Why me? What could you possibly see in someone like me?"

Vivi seemed to perk up a little, as he curled his fingers together, feeling a little blush had slipped over his cheeks.

"You're always there to help me... whenever I don't believe I can do something, you give me the push I need to at least try... you told me I'm different from the black mage dolls we saw in Dali, that I shouldn't feel like I'm just a tool... I enjoy being around you... you may be a thief, like Steiner said, but your so kind..." He blushed a little, feeling a little chuckle escape. "And your really cute..."

His cheeks flared red when the mage told him he was cute. Sure, he knew he was good looking, but for Vivi to actually come out and tell him such?

"I..." he choked out. "I... uh... I... thanks, Vivi... Y-you are too."

A strange feeling came into his chest, and it nagged at him.

Maybe because I'm hungry?

Immediately, Zidane nodded.

"Of course!" he replied. "You're sensitive, caring, curious, you are far stronger than you give yourself credit for. Actually, if anything, I kinda wish I were more like you."

Not understanding where all this came from, Zidane reached for the cheesy toast as it arrived, taking a slice and chomping on it. As he swallowed, he found that the strange feeling wasn't going away.

But if... oh... it can't be... it... can't... it is... I've... already... fallen for him.

His soup arriving moments later, Zidane began dipping his buttered bread into it, slowly nomming it down, feeling a little more bewildered.

He's always been around. Always with me... and there've always been hints. I always seem to Trance whenever he's troubled. I always want him to feel better about himself, and I'm always wanting to help him with everything. All this time, chasing the princess. Chasing all those girls... could I have just been hiding?

Slowly, he lifted his soup spoon and began to eat the soup, but keeping his gaze on the black mage that sat before him.

Vivi licked his lips, before bringing his lips away.

"It's delicious."

He went to sit down again, but he ended up slipping, and hit the seat rather hard, the impact causing his floppy hat to fall off his head, not noticing it right away cause of the pain running down his backside.

"Ouch... that hurt..."

Zidane went to ask Vivi if he was alright, but suddenly caught sight of a view he never thought he'd see: Vivi's true face. His face went bright red and he found himself reaching out, placing a hand on the mage's cheek.

"Vivi..." he murmured. "You're... adorable... beautiful."

The blond swallowed nervously, but found himself lost in the other's eyes.

The blond gave a slight frown when Vivi returned his hat to his head.

"You shouldn't hide yourself, Vivi..." he murmured. "Especially with how gorgeous you look."

The thief's cheeks reddened fiercely, and he took Vivi's hands in his own.

"Sorry it took me so long..." he mumbled. "Freya's right about me. I am a fool. Oblivious to the end. I didn't realise that... that I..."

Standing, Zidane moved to Vivi's seat, glancing at the mage, before leaning down, adjusting the hat so only he could see Vivi's face, and pressed a gentle kiss to the mage's lips.

Vivi's eyes widened as Zidane lifted his hat so he was looking at his face and then leaned close so their lips were touching.

He hadn't expected things to go so well. He had planned to have one date with Zidane, and then try to get things go back to normal... now there was no way that could happen... not after he just kissed him.

Zidane pulled away a moment later, but let their lips hover close to one another's.

"I'm sorry..." he murmured. "Sorry it took so long. The signs were all there and I ignored them. Every single battle we've had where you've been in trouble or despair, I've Tranced. I... I'm in love with you, Vivi... and I don't care what anyone else thinks."

Ignoring the excited whispers around him, he leaned in and kissed Vivi once more.
