dekupk5
Words from Eiji Aonuma: "I’ve never actually finished it," Aonuma said. He elaborated: "I almost feel like there’s still no game more difficult than it. Every time I try to play it I end up getting 'Game Over' a few too many times and giving up partway through. Certainly after playing the original Zelda for the first time, I didn’t ever think that I wanted to make a game like that." Could this be the cause of why Zelda games accused by many have been a little bit too linear after MajorasMask?
LEepicPOULET
I do find the first zelda is the hardest but, WOAH!!! Mind BLown. I give him props. It must take guts for someone like him to admit that.
xdaniel
I read that earlier today and just thought: "I'm with you, man." I haven't finished Zelda 1 either and honestly have no intention to, unless they do a Metroid: Zero Mission-style remake of it at some point. And no, BS Zelda doesn't count because it's just Zelda 1 with prettier graphics.
Zeth Ryder
I've beaten Zelda 1 but I have -never- beaten Zelda 2 and I fucking hate that game with a passion, after dying like 10 times now, I just finally beat dungeon 1 in Zelda2 before rage quitting and won't play it again for a while. -____-
Arcaith
I've actually picked it up again via the Ambassador thingy for 3DS, and it's as difficult as I remember. It will probably take me about a year to finish it. Then I'll move on to Zelda II. That will probably take at least as long again XD
Mellow
I've never finished the original Zelda... I have finished Zelda II, though. @Zeth: I LOOOOVED it... *spite spite spite* Nah, I'm kidding... although I did like it.
Gump
You guys haven't beaten Zelda 1 and most haven't beaten Zelda 2? I actually did finish both, and attempted a NDR of both Zelda 1 was really not all that bad, as long as you picked up the heart containers as soon as they became available, and NEVER get the damn potion. I died I think 6 times, which is okay, I guess. Zelda 2, on the other hand, was hard UP until the final (and I mean the real last enemy you fight) boss. I sort of liked the RPGness of the title, too. What I don't understand is how people can do NDR's of it with lvl 1 attack D: I may pick up Zelda II to do again, I do own an actual cartridge
Malqua
I beat Zelda 1 on Wii's Virtual software, but I didn't go back and do the harder level. I played Zelda 2, but I was like "screw this, it ain't even top down, and the 1v1 battles are impossible." I've played most of the more modern Zeldas, probably starting from ALttP for the GBA onward, except for SS and OoT3D, which I lack the systems for. LEepicPOULET
ALTTP was for GBA? I didn't even know that and I know almost everything about all zelda games (although I don't think I will ever play the CDI games). Funny that I never knew about It, especially since ALTTP was my first Zelda game as a kid.
xdaniel
Yeah, ALttP got ported to the GBA in 2003 or so, packaged with the multiplayer-only Four Swords. That was actually the first version of ALttP I owned, I only got my copy of the SNES original a year ago at a flea market
LEepicPOULET
Thanks, man. I'm going straight to ebay! (when I was little, my mom sold my SNES for an N64, I never did finish ALTTP :c)
