Should Nintendo make free demos for their games?

I've been noticing that Microsoft and Sony have been making demos for their games, for example Uncharted 3 on the PS3.

That Uncharted Demo became extremely popular and I think that it encouraged people to buy the full game.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Skyward Sword Demo, or that rumored Super Mario 3D Land demo and play them until the full games comes out?

Do you think Nintendo should charge for demos?

Do you think Nintendo should, or should not make demos for their games? Why?

They do, however, offer quite a few freebies on the eShop, whether they be full games or just nifty gadgets, such as Excitebike, Pokedex 3D and Zelda: Four Swords 25th Anniversary, to name a few. I do agree that demos would be a nice addition to the eShop rather than the abstract "What kind of game is it?" question with a ratio of casual play to intense play being the main form of genre identification.
