Pinkie Pie
PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - is known for taking some wild stands against various forms of entertainment. But its most recent target is a rather surprising one - everyone's favorite plumber, Mario. "When on a mission to rescue the princess, Mario has been known to use any means necessary to defeat his enemy - even wearing the skin of a raccoon dog to give him special powers," the site asserts. "Tanooki may be just a "suit" in Mario games, but in real life, tanuki are raccoon dogs who are skinned alive for their fur. By wearing Tanooki, Mario is sending the message that it's OK to wear fur."
KevinB834
That's dumb. I know what they are trying to get at and that is that skinning racoon dogs is animal abuse, but come on it's a game. I never heard them complain about this when Super Mario Bros. 3 came out...
Forecast
Never take PETA srsly, I always tell myself that.
Conker
PETA has, and always will give animal lovers a bad name. They don't do a thing to help, they just make things worse. This was sent from Tapatalk. Jelly?
LEepicPOULET
WOW, it's just a video game. Mario isn't killing Tanooki, he finds a power up that magically turns him into tanooki mario. Even if someone did kill a tonooki in mario, don't blame mario, blame the powerup for killing tanooki.
Conker
Better idea: Let's blame PETA for being mindless idiots. Honestly, it makes much more sense that way.

Okami Takahashi
Oh, for God's sake, PETA, NOW you react to the Tanuki Suit? It's been around 30 bloody years, you idiots, and there's no "abuse" involved! It's just a goofy costume inspired by Japanese animals culture! (Hence the old ability to turn into a statue). They didn't react to its presence when they remade Mario 3 for GBA, or when they included new versions of the game for both SNES and Wii versions of All Stars, nor when 3 was released on the Virtual Console. But now that Nintendo makes 3D Land they start crying? Laaaaaame. And if that was stupid enough of them, they're opening a porn site to help "save animals". And they got pornstar Ron Jeremy to help. That's disgusting.
oddMLan
Oh, for god's sake... just... I can't find the appropriate words to describe such stupidity. Anyone can take PETA seriously? It seems to me an excuse to get public attention. Epic fail. Nintendo should sue PETA for libel and misuse of intellectual property. --------------------------------------------------------- If somebody wants to play the poorly done game described in the image, search "Mario Kills Tanooki" on Google. Zurg
I'd rather worry about things I know that will affect me, like the internet blacklist bill, now that is something ridiculous. But yeah, PETA actually make me laugh because I'm an animal lover myself, but PETA, they're as dumb as the people that say Doom caused the Columbine deaths. Conker
Yeah, Doom didn't cause shit. Those kids were found to be mentally unstable to begin with. But hell, PETA will always be dumb, no changing that. This was sent from Tapatalk. Jelly?

Malqua
Well in the mean time, you can play the game here: http://features.peta.org/mario-kills-tanooki/ It's super graphic, imo. There's blood all about the field, and the Tanooki suit Mario is wearing is also dripping blood. The hills in the background look like malnourished skinless animals. It is possible to win, though.
