Shadow Fire
So, recently, I've found myself obsessing over Left 4 Dead, and have a new favourite pairing. Ellis (from Left 4 Dead 2) and the Hunter. Yes, the Hunter... a special infected. Kinda strange, I know, but meh. I'm a twisted individual.[warning=Warning]This fanfiction contains: Yaoi Descriptive sexual content Violence Post-apocalyptic fantasy [/warning]Rating: * * * Spoils of the Hunt I didn't know why at the time, but I couldn't keep away from him. He seemed to be so much more than just another meal. From the moment I laid my blood-soaked eyes on him, I knew I wanted to keep them set on the survivor. From my hiding place, I lunged to another building, landing silently on the roof. Staring down, I honed my senses in on him. "Did I ever tell ya'll..."Â he began, going into one of his stories about his friend Keith. "...about the time Keith decided to try knife catching? He rigged up this silly machine, an' it threw the knives out at him, but the aim was off. He got hit in the belly with one, an'..." I fought back a growl as I heard one of the other survivors interrupt him, causing him to go silent. I was listening to that... In frustration, I settled for watching the four scampering around the city, avoiding the common infected, and my special brethren. Keeping a closer eye on my story-telling human of interest, I felt a strange tightness in my pants, as well as in my chest. Confused, I stared down, noticing a strange tenting had appeared. Growling softly to myself, I turned my attention back to the human. He seemed to be loading his weapon. I was unable to fight back a strange grin. He's quite good looking. I was interrupted from my thoughts by the sudden sound of sobbing. Glancing in the direction, I noticed a Witch, sitting in a place that the survivors would not be able to sneak around. I narrowed my eyes, giving a soft hiss as the survivors noticed all too late. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"Â The Witch had been startled and was now on a murderous rampage. All of them screamed and ran, shooting at the closing infected. To confuse it, the survivors split up, my 'sister' following the large, dark-skinned man. The shrieks faded into the distance, along with sounds of gunfire. He's alone... now's my chance. I targeted the overall-wearing human and followed him into the night, coming down to the ground to get a closer look at him. I had to be careful. I knew he'd try to kill me if he saw or heard me. I was infected after all. I kept to the shadows, but a sudden noise made me freeze in place. The tell-tale hacking cough of a Smoker rang in the air. The human heard it too, and began looking around for it. However, it was futile. The long-tongued infected had ensnared him, and began to drag him up towards him, trying to have an easy meal. "HELP!"Â the human screamed. "SMOKER'S GOT ME!"Â I couldn't hide anymore. I'd be damned if I'd let that Smoker get in the way of my curiosity. I gave a loud warning snarl, alerting the special, and the human, to my presence. "Great..."Â the man wheezed. "A Smoker an' a Hunter... Jus' my... day..."Â Zeroing in on the Smoker, I used my powerful legs to lunge right up on top of the building it was on, using my sharp claws to slash its tongue right from its mouth. Surprised, it tried to defend itself, but I had the element of surprise, and moments later, it exploded in a cloud of smoke, what remained of its body falling to the ground. The human, now free, shook the now limp appendage from him, before looking around for me. I won't disappoint you... Looking down at the ground, I propelled myself down, landing gracefully in front of him, startling him enough to force him to raise his gun. I backed off cautiously, but didn't move any closer, choosing to just stare at him. Once again, the strange feeling filled my body. The survivor was confused, wondering why I wasn't attacking, but he suddenly clicked on. "Wait..."Â he murmured. "Did ya... save me from the Smoker?"Â I growled softly, but nodded my head. This only shocked the human more. "I never thought I'd say this..."Â he continued, perplexed. "'specially not to a zombie an' all... but... thanks."Â I remained quiet, just staring at him. He stared back, our eyes locked on one another's. The survivor swallowed and took a step closer to me. I stood my ground. "Hey..."Â he mumbled, attempting to communicate with me. "My name's Ellis. Do ya have a name?"Â I stared blankly at him, still trying to fight off my instincts. Ellis, as he called himself, sighed softly. "Of course ya had a name..."Â he muttered. "Not that ya can exactly tell me, right?"Â Still crouched on all-fours, I moved closer, picking up his unique scent. Warily, he watched me, cautioning me not to make any unnecessary movement. I ignored him and moved closer. He took a step back, and I immediately snarled at him. Narrowing his eyes at me, he took another step back, so I decided for a more drastic approach. I lunged at him. ***** Ellis had no time to react as I brought him down to the ground, pinning him with my strong legs. He made to scream, but I leaned down and sniffed at him, causing him to stop instantly, confused once again at my actions. I will admit that I was confused as well, but of course, I couldn't exactly voice it. Instead, I did what my instincts told me to do. My tongue trailed out and flickered over his neck, causing the survivor to shudder. The very response made me dart back in surprise. Giving another snarl, I moved in and repeated the action. This time, a strange whimper came from him. That sounded good... but why? I could feel my body warm up and I had the strongest urge to get close to him. Lifting a clawed hand, I reached out and touched his face. Though his expression looked scared, it also showed a deep conflicting confusion. I only knew that much because I was still spending time in its company. I gave another soft growl as images came into my mind. Lips touching, exposed bodies joining intimately. Something told me it was what I wanted, so I slowly moved my face closer, and with another growl, touched my lips to his. It felt strange, his softness in contrast to my rough, dried out lips, but I ignored that for now. It seemed irrelevant. I want more. Pulling away, I watched him look up at me in disbelief. "Did..."Â he choked out. "...did ya'll just... kiss me?"Â If I could have given a 'duh, moron' expression, I would have, but instead settled for another kiss. He tried to push me away, but I remained firm. Slowly, I could feel him weaken his resistance underneath me, and within moments, I had to pull away as I felt a strange tenting in his pants. His face seemed to glow the same red as my eyes, and I was curious. After all, it was something new, yet strangely familiar. Sex... sex... sex... I backed away in shock at what my instincts were telling me. The survivor stared at me, but didn't make to leave. Instead, face still glowing red, he approached me, reaching out a hand to my hood, slowly taking it off. I let out a defensive snarl, but he didn't flinch. Instead, he gave a strange smile. "I reckon I know what ya need..."Â he offered. "I can give it to ya... if ya promise not to tear out my innards."Â I remained silent and he took it for a confirmation. I stood, nervously as he slowly took my hoodie off, exposing my pale skin underneath to the moonlight. A strange expression came to his face as he slowly leaned in and pressed gentle kisses to my chest. I purred involuntarily, watching warily as he reached for his own clothes, and slowly began to peel them off. Moments later, I was staring at a fully exposed survivor, my pants tenting more and more. I want... I need... mate... must mate... Giving a soft whine, I listened as Ellis chuckled, before slowly reaching over again to rid me of my torn pants. I gasped as I felt the breeze blow over my arousal. His hands gently brushing up my now naked body, I couldn't help shuddering at the sensations. Once more, the survivor chuckled and leaned forward, pressing soft kisses to my chest. "Y'know..."Â he muttered. "For an infected... ya don't exactly smell like it. I bet yer only a recent mutation... right?"Â I didn't know how to answer his question. My mind, what was left of it anyway, was too focused on what he was doing, rather than what he was saying. The survivor grinning, he snaked an arm around my body and pulled me closer to him, causing me to give a surprised growl. I stopped instantly as I saw him move his face towards mine, and I found my eyes slipping closed as our lips met once more. I could taste metal, and I knew it was the blood I had, from my earlier meal. I grimaced, pulling back slightly to whimper. Humans don't like the thought of what I do... It would seem he'd read my mind, because he gave a slight smile. "Don't worry yer cute li'l face..."Â he said. "Ya'll can't help what ya need t' eat."Â He closed the distance between us again and our lips found one another's, tongues fighting for dominance, although this was one battle it seemed I'd lose. Breaking the kiss, he laid me on top of our discarded clothes, before hovering over me, glancing down at me. "Yer a cute one..."Â he murmured, his breath tickling my face. "I may hafta keep ya with me, I reckon..."Â Ellis ground his hips into mine, causing me to give an involuntary moan. He gave another chuckle, before moving position, his face now level with my thighs. Before I could even make a sound, his tongue had flickered out and trailed up my length. I let out a pleasured hiss, looking at him as he took me into his mouth, and began to suckle. You're the one who is feasting on me... I clenched my fangs together, before biting down into my lip as he continued, finding a warmth rushing through me. Pressure built up inside me after a while, and I could feel his lips curling into a grin as I felt myself coming close to what I somehow knew would be euphoria. I was right. Moments later, I bucked involuntarily, spilling myself into his mouth, the survivor taking all I had to give. As I came down from my high, I still found myself longing more. I wasn't disappointed as Ellis swallowed my load, and slid back up my body. "It's not over yet..."Â he purred. "It's jus' beginnin'."Â I watched in curiosity as he reached a finger towards me. Pressing it to my lips, I absently parted them, blinking as he slid the digit into my mouth, brushing it against my tongue. I caught on, and began suckling it gently. Reaching my clawed hands up, I took his hand and began trailing my tongue over his fingers, somehow knowing that I needed to prepare them for what was to come. A few moments later, I released his hand, watching as he traced it down my body and rested it on my ass. Gently teasing my entrance for a moment, he slowly slipped a prepared finger inside me. I let out a soft snarl at the intrusion, but my face seemed to heat up. This caused the human to chuckle. "Hey, jus' calm down..."Â he said softly. "...it'll hurt fer jus' a moment. But I promise it'll get better."Â I eased up and the survivor slipped a second finger inside. I averted my glance to the side, feeling especially vulnerable. Not just for me, but for him. We were still in the open, and if any other infected found us, we'd be taken by surprise. I pushed the thought out moments later, giving a hiss as he slipped a third finger inside. I could feel him stretching me, preparing me for our union. I can hardly wait... Neither could he, it seemed, as he removed his fingers, and placed his arousal at the place he'd just stretched out. I returned my gaze to him, and our eyes locked. Giving me a smile, he pushed inside, and I groaned in ecstasy. This is what it feels like... He paid great attention to the expressions I gave, before slowly removing himself almost completely, and then thrusting back inside. I whimpered in pleasure and couldn't refrain from wrapping my legs around his waist. His cheeks red, he began to move in a steady rhythm, leaning down and claiming my lips with his own. Our tongues danced harmoniously, our hips meeting and parting in perfect symphony. I could feel my infected instincts being pushed aside for instincts of another nature. I threw any thoughts about my brethren to the wayside, not giving a damn about them at all. I want to be his... I want to be the only one to see him... feel him like this... My survivor gripped my hips, picking up his pace as he thrust, slow and shallow. I couldn't stop myself from meeting his thrusts with my own. Our eyes opened halfway, Ellis giving a muffled moan as he reached his peak, spilling deep inside me. I drained what he had to offer me, giving a soft purring sound as he pulled his lips from mine. He buried his face in my neck, breathing heavily. I couldn't help but smile. What's more, I no longer seemed to be controlled by a mindless urge to kill. Although... I will to protect you... My heart seemed to flutter, and I reached a hand to his head, gently tangling my clawed fingers in his hair. "E...ll...is..."Â I found myself murmuring, struggling to get the words together. "Th...ank...y...ou..."Â He pulled his face away, surprised that I was able to talk, but he simply gave an enigmatic smile and nodded. "Hey..."Â he said, voice soft and tender. "Dun mention it."Â I gave a whimper as he slipped out of me, suddenly feeling very empty. My human smiled, again, and touched a hand to my cheek. "Dun worry..."Â he said comfortingly. "We'll have plenty more times, 'kay? If ya reckon I plan on letting ya'll go jus' like that... yer wrong."Â Slowly, he began reaching for his clothes, putting them back on, before helping me with mine. Moments later, we were both dressed, and I moved closer to him. "E...ll...is..."Â I growled out. "Th...ink... l...o...ve... y...o...u..."Â The survivor's lips curled up a bit more and he nodded. "Yeah..."Â he murmured. "I reckon we can try sumthin' out..."Â I smiled myself and I found myself trying to stand upright, but moments later, I decided to crouch down again, once more on all fours. I had an idea. "G...o..."Â I tried to say. "S...afe... r...i...de..."Â Ellis blinked once more, before giving a grin, and slowly climbing onto my back. I could feel my face get warm, but I ignored it, and instantly lunged towards where I could smell the other survivors were gathering. I had no idea how they'd react to seeing me, but I had a feeling Ellis would have something to say. After all, I was the spoils of his hunt, no matter how unintentional it had been.
