Explanation for Strongbox Warp

It wasn't a boss room. It's a scratchpad test, and looks like nothing more.

 

See how detailed the room is? Now see how basic the textures are? (They are only black and white, they look like alpha masks!)

 

Methinks the artists were just screwing around to see how good they could make the room look using Color Translations, or whatever you call them? (When color is given to B&W textures)

That's interesting. That would make it the only test room with an exit for it in an in game scene right?

Nope, there is an exit in the Desert Colossus that leads to the item test room as well. You can try it out if you start the cutscene with sheik and stop it then go into the great fairy's fountain.

An exit in desert makes sense for test purposes. But why would they add an exit INSIDE strongbox warp? What does the name even mean? Seriously.

 

Also, out of curiosity, but where does that exit lead to in normal OoT beta quest than in this debug rom?
